We already know a bit about GTA5, such as the map size is going to be able to fit GTA 4, Red Dead Redemption and San Andreas, with still some extra space in it. A month ago Rockstar released their newest Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer, (the Second Official trailer released so far). Check out the trailer here :
So far we know that you will be able to play as 3 different protagonists which are:
Michael
Michael is a retired successful criminal around his early 40s, which lives in the Rockford hills. Michael is a highly successful bank robber that retired and went into FIB witness protection with a great deal. He has a wife called Amanda it seems that they have a rocky relationship and kids Tracy & Jimmy are not understandable anymore. With his wife and family spending money endlessly and domestic life driving him crazy, Michael needs to leave his life of luxury and get back into "the business". Trevor and Michael are friends with each other. It is speculated the Ned Luke could be the voice actor for Michael.
Trevor Phillips
Trevor makes a living from being a criminal, he is around early 40's, possibly at a similar age to Michael. Trevor lives in Blaine County. Tevor is generally seen as a very crazy, spontaneous, drug abusing kind of guy. We know that he is also an ex-military pilot who lives in a trailer out in the desert. He is friends with Michael and used to rob banks with him, people have speculated that perhaps Michael sold him out and Trevor didn't get the good life out of a big bank robbery like Michael did.
Franklin
Franklin works as a Repo man for a Armenia luxury car dealer and does repossession when their customers can't pay. Franklin is about in his about in his mid 20's, still young unlike the other two protagonists. He lives in South Los Santos. Franklin generally hangs around with immature crazy friends (the kind that seem to shout YOLO blindly) until he meets Michael, which shows him another outlook to life and how to make some real money.
